Family Beginnings
Emma Marella

I'm Emma Marella, a certified birth doula and GentleBirth educator serving families throughout the Nashoba Valley, Central Massachusetts, and Greater Boston regions.
I have been supporting families through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum transition for almost a decade. In addition to my birth work, I have been working alongside parents and young children for the last fifteen years, giving me a deep understanding of infant development, early parenting, and the challenges families face during the first years of life.
My approach to doula support is rooted in education, evidence-based information, and individualized care. I believe every family deserves access to accurate information, compassionate support, and the confidence to make informed decisions throughout pregnancy and birth. Whether you are planning an unmedicated birth, preparing for an epidural, facing an induction, scheduling a cesarean birth, or hoping for a VBAC, I provide nonjudgmental support tailored to your unique goals and circumstances.
As a certified GentleBirth educator, I combine childbirth education with practical comfort measures, mindfulness techniques, labor preparation strategies, and tools that help families build confidence before birth. My goal is not to tell you how to give birth. My goal is to help you understand your options, prepare for the unexpected, and approach your birth experience feeling informed, supported, and empowered.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting families through many different birth experiences and parenting journeys. I understand that birth is only one part of a much larger transition. The weeks and months that follow can bring just as many questions, challenges, and opportunities for growth. My background working with infants, young children, and families allows me to continue providing guidance and support beyond the birth itself.
Families often describe me as calm, knowledgeable, and reassuring. I strive to be a steady presence during pregnancy, labor, and early parenthood—someone who can provide information when you need answers, encouragement when you need confidence, and support when you need an experienced person in your corner.
I am honored to serve families throughout Groton, Westford, Littleton, Acton, Harvard, Ayer, Lancaster, Leominster, and surrounding Massachusetts communities. Whether you're expecting your first baby or growing your family once again, I would be honored to support you on your journey.
I look forward to meeting you and learning more about your goals for pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
